Why The Hawks Could Cover The Spread
The Atlanta Hawks are a very good team. They were having a bit of a rough patch after their strong start to the season. However, they managed to walk away with a win on Monday over the Washington Wizards. The Wizards are a tough opponent and Atlanta was able to take care of business at home. The Hawks will need to play like this if they hope to defeat Brooklyn. If they can carry that momentum and team basketball into Wednesday's game then they could definitely notch a road victory.
The leader of this Hawks team is Trae Young. Ice Trae has made it clear that he is one of the best offensive talents in the NBA. He put up 26 points against the Wizards. That isn't anything new. Trae is averaging over 22 points and 9 assists per game. The offense flows through him and he sets the pace for the rest of the team. Trae has yet to drop a 40 piece this season, could Wednesday night be the night? If so then Brooklyn will have a tough time hanging on.

Why The Nets Could Cover The Spread
A lot of people picked the Nets to win it all this season, and for good reason. Brooklyn is stacked. They have the talent, they just need the leadership, teamwork, and drive to take care of business. The Nets are coming off back to back wins. Their last win came against the Pistons by a margin of 26. Brooklyn seems to have found their flow and has the ability to beat any team in the NBA. If the Nets can continue to ball out then it's going to be a long night for Atlanta.
The obvious leader of this Nets team is Kevin Durant. KD is arguably the best player in the NBA. Any team that he is on instantly becomes extremely competitive. In only 27 minutes of play against Detroit, KD managed to go 10-13 and put up 23 points. This is extreme efficiency. This season he is averaging 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. If KD starts hitting shots the Nets should be able to get a win at home.
The other half of this Nets duo is James Harden. Harden has been having an underwhelming season but he has learned how to adapt. The thing about Harden is that even if he is missing shots he knows how to impact games. He is one of the best passers in the league. Against Detroit he only put up 18 points, but he managed to notch a triple double by grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 12 assists. Harden is still a top talent in the league whether or not he is hitting shots.
Final Hawks-Nets Prediction & Pick
This is a really tough decision. A lot of what this game comes down to is whether or not players are hitting their shots. If Trae Young goes off and Atlanta manages to hold off the Brooklyn offense, then the Hawks should have no problem. If KD goes off and Harden plays well then the Nets will dominate. Picking one of these teams to cover isn't the right move. Rather with such offense heavy teams you should lean towards the over. Pick the over and get ready to watch a great game with lots of baskets.
