The Miami Heat are soaring through the East right now. Their (41-21) record in the East is good for first place by two games over the Chicago Bulls. They just defeated the Bulls last time out 112-99. The Milwaukee Bucks are fourth in the East with a (37-25) record. The Bucks obliterated the Charlotte Hornets 130-106 Monday night. This has the makings of being a potential Eastern Conference Finals matchup, let’s get to the prediction and pick.

Why The Heat Could Cover The Spread
The Heat have won four straight and seem like they might run away with the East. This is a huge test for them on the road as Milwaukee poses a major threat as well. The Heat come into this game as the underdog but they can easily win this game. The issue is they will be without crucial players once again. Kyle Lowry remains out for personal reasons and Markieff Morris and Victor Oladipo are yet to make their return. Caleb Martin is currently listed as questionable with an Achilles injury. Despite all that, Miami finds ways to win games. They will rely on Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo to lead the team but they have seen some great play from Gabe Vincent who is replacing Lowry.
This game against the Bucks will need to be won on the defensive side of the floor, however. The Heat are (9-1) in their last 10 games and are allowing only 103 points per game during that stretch. Milwaukee is averaging 123 points per game in their last 10 games so that is where things get interesting. If Miami can shut down that high-powering offense led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, then Miami can “upset” the Bucks here. The Heat are (34-26-1) against the spread this season.
Why The Bucks Could Cover The Spread
The Bucks have lost three of their last five games but are coming off of a dominating performance. They will need to repeat that as they have a tough opponent in front of them. The Bucks are favored here at home where they are (21-12) on the season. The Heat are (20-14) away from South Beach. These two teams meet for the 4th time this season. It’s been a great stretch of meetings between these two squads as the Heat won the last matchup 113-104. Caleb Martin scored 28 in the win so if he isn’t available tonight for the Heat, then the Bucks should feel pretty confident about their chances.
The Bucks are scoring points with ease. It’s their defense that has cost them games. They are allowing 116 points per game over the course of their last 10 games. The absence of Brook Lopez seems to be crucial for them on the defensive side of the floor. The Bucks are not great ATS this year at just (27-35).

I think this will be a close game and I am taking the Heat on the road here. Miami is finding ways to win games but the Bucks aren’t going to go down easy. The Bucks could very well win this game, I just think it will be by less than five points.
