The Los Angeles Lakers are set to take on the Memphis Grizzlies this Wednesday night in what should be an interesting Western Conference matchup. With that said, it’s a good time to check out our NBA odds series, which includes our Lakers-Grizzlies prediction, odds, and pick we have laid out below.

The Lakers and Grizzlies will face each other on Wednesday night at the FedEx Forum in Memphis. Los Angeles is coming off a 132-123 victory over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. LeBron James and company have been reeling as of late as they went on a five-game losing skid prior to Tuesday's win over Houston. The Lakers have won just four of their last 10 outings.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are on a bit of a tear as of late. They've won 12 of their last 16 games and even went on two separate five-game winning streaks throughout this stretch. They did lose three in a row in their last three games prior to Christmas but bounced back in a huge way with a statement win over the Phoenix Suns on the road.

Here is how FanDuel has set the Lakers-Grizzlies odds for this Wednesday night NBA matchup.

NBA odds: Lakers-Grizzlies Odds

Lakers: +6 (-112)

Grizzlies: -6 (-108)

Over: 226.5 (-110)

Under: 226.5 (-110)

Why the Lakers Could Cover the Spread

The Lakers may be at a disadvantage here due to playing the second night of a back-to-back. With most of Los Angeles' rotation getting up there in age, they may not be able to hang with the Grizzlies. In addition, Los Angeles is still obviously missing Anthony Davis, who is their second-leading scorer and defensive anchor.

Nonetheless, the Lakers could still have a shot at pulling this off against Memphis. LeBron James, who turns 37 on Thursday night, has been on a tear as of late. The King is averaging 34.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 6.4 assists, while shooting 58.8 percent from the field over his last five games. Furthermore, the Purple and Gold squad may be feeling good with their win over the Rockets and could carry the momentum from that win.

The Lakers still sit at 7th in the Western Conference with a 17-18 record. They are 7-8 on the road and could be motivated to get even with a .500 record.

Why the Grizzlies Could Cover the Spread

The Grizzlies have the edge over the Lakers in this one. The last time these two teams squared off, the Grizzlies took down the Lakers by 108-95 at home. And they did that even without rising star point guard Ja Morant. That game 20 nights ago was pretty close through the first three quarters, until the Grizzlies pulled away near the end of the third. That ultimately spelled the difference of the game as Memphis led by as much as 14 points on multiple occasions in the fourth.

Memphis went on their torrid run without Morant but lost three in a row upon his return, which sparked ridiculous stories about how Memphis may be better without him. But as he showed against the Suns, Morant is the engine that drives this Grizzlies. He scored 33 points on 14-of-25 shooting in that huge win and made the insane hang-time layup that won them the game. The last time the 22-year old played against Los Angeles, he missed a crucial free-throw in the final seconds that ultimately cost them the game. He could be motivated to erase that defeat by leading the Grizzlies to another win on their home floor.

Memphis is 21-14 on the season, good for 4th in the Western Conference. They are 11-8 at home.

Final Lakers-Grizzlies Prediction & Pick

The Grizzlies should be able to cover and win here versus the Lakers. As mentioned, the previous time these two teams met, Memphis took the home victory. With Morant back and the Grizzlies on the heels of a massive morale-boosting win over the Phoenix Suns, look for a similar result as of their showdown last December 9th.

Final Lakers-Grizzlies Prediction & Pick: Grizzlies -7 (-108)
