Why The Knicks Can Cover The Spread

The Knicks won on the road vs. the Atlanta Hawks without Kemba Walker on Saturday, placing Alec Burks in the lineup instead. This is a change the Knicks appear to be sticking with. Walker was struggling quite a bit defensively and wasn't the best fit next to Evan Fournier. Julius Randle continues to operate as the Knicks' point forward, so Burks will really just be another shooter rather than replacing Walker as a point guard. Derrick Rose also figures to get plenty of minutes off the bench, as should Immanuel Quickley. The Knicks are a bit of weird bet as road underdogs in their first game since they announced they are benching Walker.

The Knicks are 6-3 on the road and 9-11 vs. the spread this season. They can probably hang around in this one, so a cover is not at all out of reach.

Why The Nets Cover The Spread

The Nets enter this spot as the clear favorite and should be in good position for a win. New York has had a bit of turmoil of late, as they have decided to remove Kemba Walker from the rotation. Brooklyn has made rotation changes of late as well, as they have removed Blake Griffin from theirs. The Nets are without Joe Harris for the next few weeks, so they will be down one of their best shooters for this one. Kevin Durant and James Harden will be tasked with carrying the offensive load as usual, and it's normally a task they do not struggle with. Brooklyn can easily win and cover in this spot, but it's not the smallest spread.

The Nets are just 6-4 at home so far this season, so they will look to improve their home record on Tuesday. The Nets are 8-11-1 vs. the spread so far this season.

Final Knicks-Nets Prediction & Pick

Take the Nets to win and cover on Tuesday vs. the Knicks. This will be a big national TV matchup, so Durant and Harden are really going to come to play. As the best two players on the floor, they should control this game and pull out a convincing victory over an inferior Knicks team. This is a bit of a rivalry, so it could get heated and go to the wire, but the Nets should be able to pull away at some point.

FINAL KNICKS-NETS PREDICTION & PICK: Nets -7 (-106)
