Why The Timberwolves Could Cover The Spread

The Timberwolves have won three of their last five games as they look to continue building momentum following their Covid outbreak late last month. Minnesota can get back to .500 on the season with a win, and they favorites to do so as they come in as road favorites. Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns will look to have big nights in Madison Square Garden as the Knicks complete the second half of a back-to-back following their loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday afternoon. This could be a good spot for the Wolves, who play well with D'Angelo Russell joins Edwards and Towns on the floor.

Minnesota vs. the spread

The Timberwolves are 23-20 vs. the spread this season, and 6-4 in their last ten games. Minnesota is 9-9 against the line as a road favorite and 3-2 as an away favorite.

Why The Knicks Could Cover The Spread

RECOMMENDED (Article Continues Below)

This is a back-to-back for New York, but not a traditional one. Firstly, the Knicks don't have to travel, as both games are at home. Secondly, Monday's game was a 1 pm ET tip, giving the Knicks plenty of time to recover after the game, in addition to all today on Tuesday before the night game. The rest factor should not be that big, as the Timberwolves played on Sunday night then traveled compared to Monday afternoon for the Knicks, with no travel. New York had won three straight before losing on Monday to the Hornets. It was an ugly loss, as the Knicks scored just 87 points vs. one of the NBA's worst defenses. Derrick Rose remains out for the Knicks.

 New York vs. the spread

The Knicks are 21-23 vs. the spread this season, covering in three of their last four games. New York is 7-10 against the spread as an underdog this season and 2-4 as a home dog.

Final Timberwolves-Knicks Prediction and Pick:

Take Minnesota to cover and win here as the Knicks looked sloppy on their home floor on Monday afternoon. The Timberwolves should be rested and have been playing well of late. Take the Timberwolves to get a win in this spot behind big games from Edwards and Towns.

Final Timberwolves-Knicks Prediction & Pick: Timberwolves -3.5 (-108)
