We all know that NBA superstars are modern-day superheroes. Depending on how crazy your imagination can get, it's quite easy to find similarities between characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the current stars in the NBA.

Don't believe us? Well, here's a few:

LeBron James as Iron Man

LeBron James, Marvel, NBA

One of the toughest characters in the NBA is four-time MVP and defending champion LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, which is easily why we can see a ton of Tony Stark in him.

James is one of the main characters in the league and has been known to be one of the leaders of the association. And just like Iron Man, he has garnered a bit of hate as well. That being said, when the world needs a hero, LBJ puts on his suit and kills the competition.

Giannis Antetokounmpo as The Hulk

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Marvel, NBA

Doctor Bruce Banner's alter-ego is one of the strongest characters in the entire MCU. This is the main reason why Giannis Antetokounmpo can certainly be considered the NBA's Hulk.

The two-time reigning MVP is the league's “Mean Green Machine” and it's always a bad idea to get on his bad side. Night in and night out, opponents are hoping that it's Dr. Banner who comes out wearing the Bucks' #34 instead of the monstrous superhero.

Stephen Curry as Human Torch

Stephen Curry, Marvel, NBA

Who's one of the hottest superstars in the league right now? It's none other than Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. The two-time MVP has been Torch-like, especially this season. He has been on a meteoric over these past few months and has looked like the Human Torch every time he steps on the court.

Everyone in the league knows that Curry is quite unstoppable when he decides to turn on his jets. Ya'll know it's game on when Steph says ‘Flame on!”

Chris Paul as Captain America

Chris Paul, Marvel, NBA

Just like how everyone loves Steve Rogers, the whole NBA world is starting to appreciate the greatness of Phoenix Suns court general Chris Paul.

The one and only Point God has been dishing dimes like Captain America's shield and has won the hearts of the entire league with his leadership and experience. Like a true soldier, Paul has been battling ever since he stepped into the league in 2005. And just like Captain America, he has been able to put any team on his back.

Kevin Durant as Black Panther

Kevin Durant, Marvel, NBA

Two-time NBA Champion Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets has everything in him to be the league's Black Panther. Wakanda's king and protector is one of the most lethal warriors in the entire MCU, and Durant definitely fits the part.

The former MVP has been virtually unstoppable when he puts on his superhero suit and, just like T'Challa, the Nets superstar has been one of the best predators in the game.

James Harden as Thor

James Harden, Marvel, NBA

Just like in “Avengers: Infinity War” when Black Panther had to team up with Thor to form a formidable squad, the NBA saw another superteam develop this season when James Harden decided to take his talents to New York and join Durant and the Brooklyn Nets.

Harden remains as one of the most unstoppable forces in the league, which is similar to how Thor dominates the entire universe–from Asgard to planet Earth. We can liken Harden's beard to his version of Thor's hammer since he's been rather mighty when he rocks with it. And yes, we all know Thor likes to party like Harden when it's the offseason.

Zion Williamson as Thanos

Zion Williamson, Marvel, NBA

Speaking of the Avengers, their mightiest foe would be Thanos and it's easy to spot who the NBA's Thanos is. It's second-year phenom Zion Williamson.

The New Orleans Pelicans superstar is one of the most ferocious young stars in the league, plus it certainly helps his case that he definitely resembles Thanos' herculean physique. Imagine how unstoppable Zion would be if he gets his Infinity Stones.

Luka as Doctor Strange

Luka Doncic, Marvel, NBA

The NBA's Sorcerer Supreme is none other than Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. The Slovenian has been one of the more magical figures in the league with his surgical approach to the game. Doncic's wizardry has been on point in his three years in Dallas and the scary part, he hasn't even shown us the full range of his powers.

Kawhi Leonard as Wolverine

Kawhi Leonard, Marvel, NBA

Obviously, Kawhi Leonard's claw-like hands definitely puts him in line to be the NBA's Wolverine. Though he doesn't go berzerk like Logan usually does, the two-time Finals MVP's mitts can intimidate almost anyone on the court.

Leonard has been through it all and, just like Wolverine, he seems to be regenerating and regenerating every season. Are we sure that there's no adamantium in Kawhi's bones?

Joel Embiid as Loki

Joel Embiid, Marvel, NBA

Who's the biggest troll in MCU? It's Loki the God of Mischief. Who's the biggest troll in the NBA? it's Joel Embiid, the lord of social media burns and in-court shenanigans.

The Philadelphia 76ers superstar has been one of the naughtiest non-fictional characters in the NBA today. Embiid talks a big game and the problem is, at least for all his haters, he also plays a big game. As annoying as Loki is, it's sometimes easy to forget how powerful this villain really is. You can say the same with Embiid. Don't let his antics on and off the court distract you, the 27-year-old is on a league of his own.
