The Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets are among the teams interested in veteran point guard Darren Collison, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Collison is considering a February return to the NBA and the Lakers and Clippers are emerging as his two preferred destinations:

With the Indiana Pacers last season, Collison averaged 11.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 76 games. He shot 46.7 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from beyond the arc and 83.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Collison, who played his college ball at UCLA, has career NBA averages of 12.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 708 games with the New Orleans Hornets, Pacers, Dallas Mavericks, Clippers and Sacramento Kings.

The Lakers, Clippers and Sixers are said to be looking for guard depth. Collison fits that bill. The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference. However, Rajon Rondo hasn’t been that good of a backup to LeBron James this season. He doesn’t space the floor well since he’s a below average shooter and the Lakers are actually better offensively when Rondo is on the bench.

The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday. Once the deadline passes, we might see Collison make his move.
