The 2021 NBA Draft is here and there have already been a couple of trades. The latest one involves the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns. The Nets are sending Landry Shamet to the Suns in exchange for Jevon Carter and the 29th overall pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Suns just lost in six games against the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals and have now added another scorer to the fold, with the future of Chris Paul in doubt as he is almost certain to hit free agency. The pairing of Shamet, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton is a nice insurance package in the case Paul jets Phoenix and signs elsewhere.

Shamet can do a lot of things nicely, but the interesting part is the Nets getting a draft pick back and one wonders who they are targeting at the end of the first round. Could another move be on the way? At this rate, nobody has the slightest idea, and deals are expected to go down left and right on the night of the NBA Draft.

This is just the beginning of what is shaping up to be a wild NBA Draft on Thursday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
