The Brooklyn Nets are being patient with the Kevin Durant trade situation. The Nets are in no rush to make a trade even after his request, because they want to make sure they get this right. There's even a report out there suggesting Brooklyn could drag this out until training camp.
We'll see if that actually happens. It seems Durant prefers to go to the Phoenix Suns, though other teams are involved and can put together big-time offers. Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer gave an update on the situation Monday:
Fischer: Most likely spot for KD right now is to PHX, multiple teams with Ayton going no a non Brooklyn team

Many assumed Deandre Ayton would go to the Nets in a Kevin Durant-to-Suns trade, but it seems like that may not actually be the case. There are some complicated salary cap rules involved with an Ayton sign-and-trade, though perhaps Brooklyn just doesn't want to pay up for the big man's services.
The Nets were reportedly demanding Devin Booker in Durant trade talks at first, but it's unclear if they'll stick to that. Booker just agreed to a massive four-year extension with Phoenix, which certainly would prefer not to trade the All-Star shooting guard in this scenario.

This Kevin Durant trade has the potential to be truly massive, especially with these rumors that Ayton will wind up somewhere else besides Brooklyn. It's no surprise this could drag out a bit given all the potential moving parts. The Rudy Gobert trade also likely impacted the market based on just how much the Minnesota Timberwolves gave up to get him.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski had his own update for what the Nets are looking for in a deal:
The Nets are seeking an All-Star player and several first-round draft picks in return for Kevin Durant, per @wojespn
