The Memphis Grizzlies and Detroit Pistons have been discussing a Mike Conley trade, but the two sides reportedly don't seem ready to agree on a deal, according to Rod Beard of the Detroit News.

Beard speculates the Pistons won't overpay to acquire Mike Conley. The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday.

Conley is making $30,521,115 this season. The veteran guard is owed $32,511,623 next season and has a early termination of his contract in 2020-21.

In 53 games this season for the Grizzlies, Conley is averaging 20.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists per contest. The 31-year-old is shooting 43.3 percent from the field, 36.5 percent from beyond the arc and 84.6 percent from the free-throw line. Mike Conley has spent his entire NBA career in Memphis.

The Pistons have been looking to trade Reggie Jackson for quite some time. Mike Conley would be an immediate upgrade over Jackson at the point guard position. The Grizzlies reportedly want multiple draft picks in return for Conley.

Memphis is also talking with the Utah Jazz regarding a Conley trade. So, it looks like whichever team has the better offer is going to get the crafty floor general out of Ohio State.

Mike Conley has career averages of 14.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in 771 NBA games.
