Las Vegas became the home to a starry collection of NBA players for Team USA's minicamp. Gregg Popovich and his staff gathered their troops as they take the first steps in slowly but surely morphing the roster.

It doesn't matter if it's the summer and most of these millionaire athletes have been out of action for months. They appeared just as sharp as evidenced by a clip from their 3-point shooting drill that has gone viral.

Victor Oladipo, Kevin Durant, Kyle Lowry, Harrison Barnes, and Damian Lillard all took turns in burning the nets of UNLV's court.

While the NBA game has evolved into pace-and-space basketball where a higher premium is placed on outside shooting, the international style of play demands more accuracy from long distance. This is among the biggest reasons why Gregg Popovich is the perfect coach to take the mantle from Mike Krzyzewski.

Popovich's teams have been great examples of fundamentally-sound yet highly-dangerous units. There's always spacing and perpetual ball movement — such traits that he hopes to encourage for Team USA. Outside of the X's and O's, Popovich's ability to relate, reach out, and get players' attention is the stuff of legend. This will be the intangible that's expected to play a key role in the team's success.

This streaky performance from Team USA players is only a preview of what's to come.
