Last Tuesday, Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Scott pled not guilty to a pair of felony drug charges. The Banks County district attorney’s office has formally charged him with felony marijuana possession as well as possession of a Schedule 1 drug, stemming from his arrest in July 2015, as reported by Jordan Hill of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The case is expected to be heard sometime this coming fall, a source told Hill.

The 4-year pro out of Virginia could face up to 25 years in prison after he and his younger brother Antonn were stopped along I-85 in Homer last summer and police found 35.2 grams of marijuana and 10.9 grams of Schedule I drug MDMA, also referred to as Molly.

As per the incident report on last year's arrest, Scott took full responsibility for the drugs and said that his brother had no knowledge of it. The report also states that Antonn claims to be sober but admitted that his big brother uses marijuana.

Scott was a second round pick by the Hawks and last season he averaged 6.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in 75 appearances. He is still under contract with the team and his salary of $3.3 million next season will be guaranteed on Sunday,

The Hawks have declined to make a statement about this development at this time.
