When Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young was coming out of college, a lot of pundits said he wasn't going to have success in the NBA and that the Hawks would regret trading Luka Doncic to get him.
Fast forward to today, and Young is already one of the best point guards in the NBA. After Atlanta's win over the Denver Nuggets, Young tweeted the following tweet. He spoke to reporters on Saturday about what it meant:
YOUR APOLOGY NEEDS TO BE AS LOUD AS THE DISRESPECT WAS… pic.twitter.com/EQszirVp1X

Trae Young on the "disrespect" he feels/tweeted about after the win in Denver:
"It's not a shot toward anybody, but it's just some people that didn't think I'd be able to do what I've been doing. It's just motivation. Everybody has a certain type of motivation that fuels them."

In the 10 games he has played in this season, Young is putting up MVP-type numbers. He's averaging 27.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 9.1 assists while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from beyond the arc and 80.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Young is shooting from Steph Curry range now. The Hawks' floor general can pull up from anywhere on the court. It has gotten to the point where teams are defending Young as soon as he crosses half-court.
Atlanta takes on the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center on Saturday. Atlanta is 4-7 on the season, good for ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Young wants to be the guy who leads the Hawks back to the playoffs. The franchise hasn't been to the postseason since 2017.
