Johnson, who signed his first 10-day deal with the Hawks on March 1st, has played in four games with the team, averaging 4.3 points on 53.8 percent shooting from the field (50 percent from beyond the arc) and 2.0 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per contest.
At 6-7, Johnson has good size for a wing player, and his shooting stroke seems to have impressed the Hawks enough for them to offer him a second contract.
Johnson, now 23 years of age, played his collegiate ball at La Salle, where he led the team in points as a junior (17.6 per game). In his senior season, Johnson earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors. He was also named to the First Team All-Big 5 after posting an average of 20.8 points per game.
After going undrafted in 2018, Johnson spent some time with the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA's Summer League competition. In September of last year, he signed with the Orlando Magic. However, much of his time there was spent in the G-League.
The Hawks will be back in action on Wednesday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Memphis Grizzlies. Tip-off inside State Farm Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
