Atlanta Hawks rookie point guard Trae Young is special.
On Friday against the Chicago Bulls, Young became just the fourth rookie in NBA history to score at least 35-plus points in three consecutive games since the ABA-NBA merger.
The other three players to accomplish that feat are Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson and Bernard King, three players who are in the NBA Hall of Fame.
Not a bad list to be on for Young, who is making the 2019 Rookie of the Year award between him and Mavs rookie Luka Doncic closer and closer as the season moves along.

Trae Young scored 36 points against the Houston Rockets, 36 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and finished with a whopping 49 points on Friday against the Bulls. The fifth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft is proving all the critics wrong who said he wasn't going to be an impact player in the NBA.
The Hawks have a franchise point guard now. The organization needs to surround Young with as many shooters as possible during the next couple of seasons. If Atlanta's brain trust can do that, the Hawks will be back in the playoffs in no time with Young leading the way.
What's great about Trae Young is that he's scoring and passing the ball at a high level. He doesn't have tunnel vision like a lot of rookies do. The Hawks got a good one in Atlanta.
