Trae Young had another monster performance on Thursday night as the Atlanta Hawks took down the Phoenix Suns, 124-115. Young exploded for a game-high 43 points and this most recent scoring outburst allowed him to enter LeBron James and Kevin Durant territory.
According to ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter, the Hawks superstar is just the sixth player in league history to have amassed at least 20 games of scoring 40 or more points before turning 24 years old:

That's quite an accomplishment for Young and if you look at the list above, there's no denying that he's in absolutely great company. Not only did he join LeBron and KD on the list, but he's now also matched a record that was also achieved by three Hall of Famers in Tracy McGrady, Shaquille O'Neal, and the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan. Surely, there are many more records for Trae to come in the future.
Young wasn't even supposed to play in this one, with the 23-year-old tagged as a game-time call due to a shoulder contusion. It is clear that the injury didn't bother him too much and he made sure to carry the Hawks to another victory here. It wasn't just any win too, as Atlanta defeated the league-best Phoenix Suns in a marquee matchup.
