Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young broke loose on the break and sprinted his way to the rim and finished with a tough layup in their game against the Chicago Bulls.

As he made his way down the lane, Young's sneakers went off of his foot. As the Hawks' announcers mentioned during the broadcast, the 6-foot-1 speedster was so fast on that run that he left his shoe in the dust.

Looks like that ankle is now a-okay.

Young is obviously one of the fastest players in the league, along with the likes of De'Aaron Fox and Kyrie Irving to name a few. Things like these happen from time to time, especially with the way they can just burst out into the open floor.

Young and the Hawks were able to overcome a 9-point lead at the half to defeat the Bulls, 108-97. Ice Trae finished shot 9-of-14 from the field, drained four 3-points, and made 11-of-12 free throws to finish with 33 points. He did majority of his damage in the first half, as he dropped 22 points through the first 24 minutes of action.

Young missed four games over the last week due to a sprained ankle, but returned on Friday in a losing effort to the Philadelphia 76ers. Including Sunday's performance, he has scored 65 points through two games and looks to be focused to lead the Hawks to a strong finish to the season. The win over Chicago placed the Hawks to within one game behind the 4th seeded New York Knicks.
