Playing alongside rookie point guard Trae Young. Playing in a refurbished arena. Playing for an organization with some gorgeous uniform combinations. Playing in a city like Atlanta. If you were an NBA free agent, how would that sound? According to Young, he thinks it sounds pretty good and is ready to help make Atlanta a destination spot for players hitting the open market. When asked about whether he would recruit free-agents-to-be (without tampering, of course) to join him with the Hawks, here was what Young had to say, via Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype:

“Oh, I definitely think this is going to be a big spot that free agents look at. I mean, we’re a very young team, but we’ve been playing really well lately and this is an exciting team and an exciting city. I think we’re maybe one or two pieces away from really making that jump and taking off. I definitely think this is an attractive city [and situation]. And I’m not a tampering guy or anything like that, but I think I’m a good recruiter – for sure.”
The Hawks may sit at 22-45 on the year entering play Sunday, but Young, who is averaging 18.4 points and 7.8 assists per game, isn't looking at their down year as a reason to avoid an organization he sees as on the rise. Despite being just 20 years old, Young has the keys to the franchise in his hands, as he has already embraced the role of trying to bring players aboard to join him in his new city.
