The Atlanta Hawks' putrid 2017-18 season netted them Trae Young in the 2018 NBA Draft and the youngster has been phenomenal during his rookie season.

After making the playoffs 10 years in a row, the Hawks missed it last season and won only 24 games. Former head coach Mike Budenholzer and the Hawks mutually agreed to part ways after the season ended, as he didn't want to be part of a rebuilding team.

Young says one of his goals for this year was to “bring life back to the city of Atlanta.” The playmaker has definitely accomplished that goal, as the Hawks are a fun team to watch again with Young leading the charge.

“Besides the one month (November) I didn’t shoot the ball well, I think I had a really good season as far as making plays, getting my teammates involved and scoring when needed,” Young told Jeff Zillgitt of USA TODAY Sports. “One thing I wanted to do was bring life back to the city of Atlanta, and we’ve done a great job of doing that.”

The Hawks have only 29 wins on the season entering Friday, but Trae Young has been a joy to watch all season and the team plays a fun style of basketball.

Atlanta has a nice core led by Young, center John Collins, and swingman Kevin Huerter.
