LeBron James is reportedly aggressively trying to recruit Kyrie Irving to the Los Angeles Lakers, but the Brooklyn Nets are expected to land Irving once free agency starts on June 30, according to Anthony Puccio of Nets Daily.

The Lakers don't have a max salary slot for Irving, while the Nets have two. Irving grew up in New Jersey and was a Nets fan as a kid.

While there’s no pen to paper just yet, the belief is that Kyrie Irving will be a Brooklyn Net once free agency opens up on June 30 at 6:01 p.m. Sources say LeBron James and the Lakers are aggressively trying to recruit Kyrie to Los Angeles, but the Nets are currently the front runners. And the Lakers will have to make additional moves to get the cap space needed to pay him the $32.7 million he’s eligible to receive.

“Everything I’ve heard is that it’s a done deal,” one source close to both sides said about Kyrie and the Nets.

James and Irving are said to be on good terms again. However, barring something unforeseen happening, all signs point toward Kyrie being on the Nets. The Lakers, due to the timing of the Anthony Davis trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, don't have the cap space to sign a star free agent like Irving at the moment.

James and the Lakers will likely try and convince Kemba Walker to come to Los Angeles since it appears Irving is Brooklyn bound.
