Brooklyn Nets big man Alan Williams is unlikely to return to the team this summer, according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

While “Big Sauce” was dominant in the G League with the Long Island Nets, posting strong averages of 21 points, a league-leading 14.7 rebounds as an undersized 6-foot-8 forward, it's hard to see him returning to a lineup that already has DeAndre Jordan and Jarrett Allen at center and Rodions Kurucs getting regular minutes at power forward.

Williams led the Nets to The Finals last season with his studly play, and while he's yet to sign with a team, it's unlikely he would make his return with the Nets after playing only 26 minutes over five games with the NBA team.

His impressive run should give him a strong chance to get on an NBA roster for the veteran's minimum, but in the case that he doesn't, looking overseas might not be a bad idea.

It would be tough for Williams to top what was already an eye-popping stint in the G League during the 2018-19 campaign.

Williams isn't a stranger to trying his luck overseas. After going undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft, he played for the Charlotte Hornets in  the Orlando Summer League and later for the Houston Rockets in Las Vegas, failing to get an offer from a team.

He joined the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association and returned the next year to ink a deal with the Phoenix Suns.

Despite his short stint in the league, he led all NBA players in PER through 2018-19.
