Blake Griffin finally had his moment as the six-time All-Star made his Brooklyn Nets debut on Sunday. The 32-year-old was able to make his much-awaited first appearance for the Eastern Conference giants as the Nets hosted the Washington Wizards.
Griffin came off the bench for his first time in a Nets jersey. He only scored a single bucket but it came via a slam dunk, his first since 2019. If you know Griffin then you definitely know how long that's been. After the game, he shared how he felt after finally getting it out of the way (via ESPN).
“It felt great. I knew once it happened that it was going to be a thing so I tried not to look at the bench when I was coming back down but then I kinda peeked over and I saw DeAndre (Jordan) all the way out on the side and saw everybody standing up so it was hard not to smile in that situation. It felt good to just get that out of the way and move on.”

Griffin, who's still dealing with a knee issue, only played 15 minutes in his first game with the Nets. Aside from his drought-breaking dunk, he also added two rebounds and a block in his limited playing time, although he finished with a team-high +12 in plus-minus.
The Nets didn't need Blake Griffin to do too much though as their healthy duo of James Harden and Kyrie Irving combined for 54 points to lead the squad to another impressive win. They will next face the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.
