Everyone is waiting for the Brooklyn Nets to make a trade involving Kevin Durant and/or Kyrie Irving. The one that may actually happen involves second-year guard Cam Thomas. After a solid rookie season, the shooting guard and LSU product has a good amount of interest around the league.

According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, the Nets could recoup a first-round pick in exchange for Thomas. With a return like that, Brooklyn may be willing to entertain a trade.

Sources told The Post that the Nets have received interest from multiple teams regarding the 6-foot-3, 210 pound guard, with league personnel saying he likely could bring back a first-round pick.

In 67 games, Thomas averaged 8.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 43.3 percent from the field. The 20-year-old is a scoring machine and could be useful for the Nets whether they trade Durant and Irving to rebuild or not. Having a sparkplug like him to use off the bench will be beneficial.

However, the Nets traded a first-rounder to get Royce O'Neale from the Utah Jazz and are missing a ton of picks in the future. Adding more picks for the future, especially if it is in the top 20, could be a worthwhile move. Thomas may also be useful as a trade chip to get Brooklyn another high-level player.

The Nets' stars seem like they are on their way out but the market for them has been rather cold so far.
