Despite having yet to fully establish himself as the team's cornerstone superstar, Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell's self-confidence remains fully intact. A fan recently reaffirmed his own faith on the potential of the 22-year-old, and Russell responded with a simple and straightforward statement that proves just how much he trusts in himself.

Drafted second overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2015, Russell was once touted as the future of the storied franchise. The expectations were very high on the former Ohio State standout, especially considering the fact that he was picked ahead of the likes of Kristaps Porzingis, Devin Booker, and Myles Turner.

Russell's Nets career was off to a great start until he was ruled out indefinitely after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. He eventually made his return to the court towards the latter part of the season, but was slowly eased back into action. In 48 games for the Nets, Russell averaged 15.5 points on 41.4% shooting, 1.9 three-pointers, 3.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 3.1 turnovers in 25.7 minutes per contest.
Russell is currently on the final year of his rookie deal and is definitely looking to make his mark this season. If there's anything we're sure of, it's the fact that Russell won't be having any issues in the confidence department.
