Things aren't going to plan for the Brooklyn Nets this season. In fact, they really haven't since the early days of the Kevin Durant-Kyrie Irving-James Harden trio. Now, Harden is gone to Philly, while KD and Kyrie are trying to bring a title to the city.
Between Durant's knee injury that kept him sidelined for two months and Irving's part-time availability due to his vaccination status, the Nets sit in a play-in spot right now, which means they could potentially need to win two games in order to make the postseason.
Despite KD playing at an MVP level this season when healthy, he somehow believes his injury was the turning point for Brooklyn.

Honestly, it's a bit unfair of Durant to blame their struggles on himself. He's put the Nets on his back so many different times. It simply comes down to their inability to play defense on a nightly basis. Their star duo can combine for 70+ points, yet they still lose.
It's certainly promising that Kyrie can suit up in all games now alongside KD, but the Nets are still extremely poor at containing their opponents. There is not a chance Brooklyn can win a championship at this rate. Getting Ben Simmons back would help them a ton on the defensive end, but he's now out for the rest of the season and the play-in.
However, it's Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, two of the most gifted scorers the NBA has ever seen. You simply can't count them out.
