Kyrie Irving's list of detractors grows by the day. The Brooklyn Nets star now faces criticism beyond the confines of NBA circles as cultural icon Howard Stern becomes the latest to lambast the enigmatic superstar.
Speaking on his radio show, Stern didn't hold back against the Nets guard calling him out both for his recent COVID-19 vaccine stance as well as his previous “history of being stupid”.
Via TMZ Sports:
“In terms of idiots, he's got to be the top idiot in the country right now,” Stern said of the Nets star. “Guy's got a chance as a young man to make millions of dollars, all he's got to do is get vaccinated but he doesn't want to get vaccinated.”

“This guy's got a history of being stupid,” Stern said. “He's one of those guys who was a flat-earther too. And, you know what, he doesn't know anything. His mind works in a very strange way.”
The Brooklyn Nets themselves weren't too accommodating of Kyrie Irving's reluctance to get vaccinated. While they respected his decision and right to personal choice, they weren't going to let him play part-time if he couldn't participate while in New York based on city mandates.
Howard Stern expressed his admiration for Nets GM Sean Marks and this decision to bar Kyrie from playing.
“I don't know who runs the Brooklyn Nets, but I wish they were running the country,” Stern said. “I love this. Basically saying, ‘Listen, d—bag. You've got to do what is right. That's it.'”
As it stands, the Kyrie Irving Covid-19 vaccine saga looks to have no clear end in sight. But as the season begins, the Brooklyn Nets will march on without their mercurial point guard.
