Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving has been playing at an elite level of late. He's dropped a mind-boggling 132 points over his last three games, including a career-high 60-point performance against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.

There's no doubt that Kyrie is one of the best point guards in the game today. This is exactly why the Nets star has been on the receiving end of some high praise from pretty much anywhere and everywhere. Some folks have even gone as far as comparing Kyrie to the greatest shooter of all time in Stephen Curry.

This is simply way too much for ESPN analysts and renowned NBA insiders Brian Windhorst and Tim Bontemps. The pair discussed Kyrie's greatness on Friday's episode of Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective podcast, but they just couldn't stomach the comparisons to Steph:

“People act like Kyrie the player is Stephen Curry and I don’t understand it,” Windhorst said (h/t Arthur Sorcier of The Sports Rush). “He has never gotten an MVP vote. He has never gotten a first-team All-NBA vote. He’s made one 2nd team All-NBA and 3rd team twice. And he’s always hurt.”

Windhorst did not hold back with his criticism of Irving here. He is stating facts, though, so in this respect, it's hard to dispute his argument. In terms of accomplishments in the NBA, Curry has done far more than Irving has at this point in their respective careers.

Bontemps echoed his co-host's thoughts on Kyrie. According to Bontemps, he firmly believes that Irving is one of the most overrated players in the game today:

“His resume is not even close to the resume of the other guys on the top 75,” Bontemps added. “I’m not sure his resume is even HOF worthy right now and if he were to make it off where his career is currently at, it’ll be because he is fun to watch… I too have always thought Kyrie is incredibly overrated.”

Talk about pouring some ice-cold water on the Kyrie Irving hype train. I guess what these two are saying is that in his own right, Irving is an all-time great. Just don't mention him in the same breath as Stephen Curry.
