After an entire year of conflicting reports and non-stop speculations, Kevin Durant is now with the Brooklyn Nets. He signed a four-year deal with the team, along with fellow All-Star Kyrie Irving. But while a lot of people are praising general manager Sean Marks and head coach Kenny Atkinson for their impressive work in rebuilding the team that ultimately made them a more attractive destination than the New York Knicks, rapper and entrepreneur Joey Bada$$ is making it known that he also had something to do with bringing KD to Brooklyn.

In a recent episode of The Angie Martinez Show, Joey Bada$$, known in real life as Jo-Vaughn Scott, said that he constantly talked to Durant during the summer, but maintained a low-key profile during the recruitment process.

Scott has posted several photos of him and KD on Instagram, which is an indication that he's indeed built a connection with the 10-time All-Star. Now, whether he played a significant role in bringing Durant to the Nets, we will never know. What we do know is they are now a team that will become legitimate championship contenders in the future.

Durant is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season because he's still recovering from the Achilles injury he suffered during the NBA Finals, while he was still with the Golden State Warriors. Still, the Nets are expected to be a very good team with Irving leading the way. They also have an impressive young core that's comprised of Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, and Jarrett Allen.

Do not be surprised to see the Nets finish in the top four of the East next season.
