Brooklyn Nets small forward Rodions Kurucs says Kevin Durant is his favorite player and is excited to learn from the two-time Finals MVP.

Even though Durant is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season recovering from his right Achilles tear, the new Nets superstar can still teach Kurucs a few tricks behind the scenes.

During his rookie season with the Nets, Rodions Kurucs averaged 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from beyond the arc and 78.3 percent from the free-throw line. In the 2019 playoffs, the 21-year-old put up 6.3 points. The Nets lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round in five games.

Along with Kevin Durant, Brooklyn agreed to free agent deals with Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Garrett Temple and Wilson Chandler. The Nets, even without Durant, are going to be a lot of fun to watch in 2019-20 and figure to be a top-four team in the Eastern Conference.

Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen and Joe Harris should build off their successful individual 2018-19 seasons. The Nets are also hoping Kurucs will take the next step in his development after he saw what the NBA game is like.

Brooklyn is going to get a lot of national television games moving forward, a good opportunity for Kurucs to showcase his skills to people who don't know much about him.
