Kevin Durant put on a show yet again on Christmas Day, as the Brooklyn Nets pummeled the Boston Celtics en route to a 123-95 against fellow Eastern Conference contenders in the Boston Celtics. After the win, new Nets head coach Steve Nash had nothing but high praise for his superstar.
As a matter of fact, Nash was so impressed with Durant's performance, that the rookie coach had to resort to some superhuman superlatives to describe the former league MVP's tremendous showing against Boston:
“For mere mortals in this game it’s impossible to think about. It’s nothing in his mind,” Nash said, via Mike Vaccaro of the New York Post.
Durant needed just 33 minutes to log 29 points on 9-of-16 shooting, to go along with three triples, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

“It’s still impressive to watch after all these years,” Nash said. “His length, his skill, his ability, his mobility, he’s still capable to go on runs like that. … He just took over at times.”
Durant wasn't the only bright spot for Brooklyn on Friday, with Kyrie Irving coming out with an even more astounding performance. The six-time All-Star point guard finished with a game-high 37 points on 13-of-21 from the floor, with seven treys, six boards, eight assists, a steal, and just one turnover in 33 minutes of action against his former team.
The Nets are now 2-0 to start that season, and at the moment, the Durant-Irving partnership is clearly much living up to all the hype.
