Phoenix Suns star shooting guard Devin Booker believes his close friend, Brooklyn Nets starting point guard D'Angelo Russell, should be an All-Star this season.

D'Angelo Russell was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 14 of the NBA season. Russell put up 28.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists and led the Nets to a 3-0 record.

Russell will become a restricted free agent after this season ends and it looks like he is going to get paid. The former No. 2 overall pick entered Monday averaging 19.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 81.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Russell continued his stellar play on the season Monday against the Sacramento Kings. The lefty scored 31 points and dished out eight assists to help the Nets defeat the Kings by a final score 123-94. Brooklyn is now 25-23 on the year.

The 22-year-old Russell has come a long way since the infamous phone incident with Nick Young. He is playing the best basketball of his NBA career right now and Devin Booker is paying attention from afar.

Booker signed a five-year rookie scale max extension with the Suns before the 2018-19 season started worth $158 million. Russell isn't going to get that type of money, but he has definitely set himself up for a nice payday nonetheless.
