Nicolas Batum led the charge for the Hornets in the first quarter, scoring 16 points. Frank Kiminsky and Dwight Howard both added 10.
According to basketball-reference.com, the Hornets' 49 points in the first quarter tonight are the most by an NBA team in any quarter this season. The Houston Rockets held the previous record with 48 points scored in the third quarter of a 137-110 win over the Utah Jazz. Per the Pacers broadcast, the Hornets' point total is also the most points allowed in a first quarter in Indiana's franchise history.
