The Chicago Bulls have had bad injury luck all year. But their misfortunes may be turning at exactly the right time.
Second-year forward Patrick Williams has been cleared to make his return after what was seen as a potentially season-ending wrist injury fives games into the 2021-2022 NBA season.

Getting Patrick Williams back is a potentially huge addition to the Bulls' rotation for the postseason. He was seen as the team's defensive weapon for defending bigger wings and the anchor of their frontcourt with the more offense-first Nikola Vucevic at center. Defending the Kevin Durants and Jayson Tatums of the East is never going to be easy, but having a guy like Williams who provides some size and defensive versatility gives them a better chance at slowing some of those guys down.
Chicago will have a dozen games to integrate Patrick Williams back into their lineup. While it remains to be seen how involved he'll ultimately be for the playoffs, having the option to go to him certainly gives the Bulls a different look.
