Upon landing in Charlotte for All-Star weekend, Chicago Bulls power forward Lauri Markkanen wanted to practice for the Rising Stars challenge, so he asked his coach, Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki, want time practice was.

That's when one of Markkanen's teammates on Team World, Mavs rookie Luka Doncic, said Nowitzki told him there was no practice. Lauri then jokingly threatened to start a mutiny on Dirk.

Lauri Markkanen and Luka Doncic are the two headliners on Team World. It looks like Dirk Nowitzki is taking the laissez-faire style of coaching and going to let his players handle everything.

In his second season in the NBA, Markkanen is averaging 18.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for the Bulls. The 21-year-old is shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 38.3 percent from beyond the arc and 87.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Doncic, meanwhile, is putting up 20.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists for the Mavs while shooting 43.0 percent overall, 34.8 percent from the 3-point line and 72.2 percent from the foul line. Luka is the front runner to win the 2019 NBA Rookie of the Year award and now the franchise player in Dallas with Nowitzki retiring soon.

The Bulls are 14-44 on the season, 13th place in the East. Markkanen should enjoy All-Star weekend because once he gets back to Bulls, it will be back to losing and dysfunction.
