Tristan Thompson's most recent referee altercation is going to cost him big time. The Chicago Bulls veteran has been slapped by a hefty $20,000 fine by the NBA for using profanity towards the referee.

For what it's worth, Thompson played just 15 minutes in that game before he was sent for an early shower. He put up four points, four rebounds, and two assists during his limited time on the floor.

Chicago is Thompson's third stop of the season. He started the campaign with the Sacramento Kings, but was traded to the Indiana Pacers as part of the Domantas Sabonis-Tyrese Haliburton deal. Thompson played just four games in Indiana before being waived by the team. The Bulls acted quickly and they plucked him off the waiver wire.

TT is currently averaging 5.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game. He could prove to be a key part of the rotation for Chicago down the stretch.
