When the Chicago Bulls last played the Milwaukee Bucks, Alex Caruso got fouled hard by Grayson Allen. He suffered a wrist injury that required surgery and has been out ever since that game on January 21st. Needless to say, there's some bad blood in the air as the teams face off again.
Tristan Thompson wasn't yet on the Bulls when Allen injured Caruso but he is still ready to stand up for his teammates. He said that he enjoys physicality and will not be afraid to deal with an opponent if a similar incident happens.

The Bulls signed Thompson to be just this: a physical enforcer off the bench. He is averaging 6.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. The 30-year-old has spoken glowingly about the franchise, making him all the more likely to defend his teammates.

While the Bulls still await Caruso and Patrick Williams to return from their wrist injuries, which could still take a few weeks to happen, they may have to rely more on their bench to contribute defense. Especially with the Bucks' size, Thompson could see a lot of minutes as a defensive reinforcement.
Although Thompson was simply a pickup from the buyout market, he bring some much-needed energy to the Bulls. His role will fade over the course of the season but he should still be a positive presence.
Chicago and Milwaukee could get a little chippy tonight, as both teams are looking to establish themselves as Eastern Conference contenders. If it does, don't be surprised to see Thompson in the mix.
