Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose returns to his hometown of Chicago on Friday to take on the Chicago Bulls.
Rose, who got MVP chants from the Bulls crowd last season as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, says he feels like “Jay-Z or somebody” since everyone is hitting him up for tickets and getting excited about his return to The Windy City:
“Everybody is hitting me up and me being from Chicago, the way the city is buzzing right now, it feels like a performer — like Jay-Z or somebody is coming into town,” Rose said Wednesday, via Rod Beard of the Detroit News. “Everybody is geeked right now.”

Rose will likely receive a loud roar from the United Center crowd when he checks in on Friday. He's the most popular Bulls player in the post-Michael Jordan era.
The Pistons are 2-3 on the young season. Rose is averaging 20.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game while shooting 55.3 percent from the field and 94.4 percent from the free-throw line. It's early, but D-Rose is looking like an All-Star.
The All-Star game is in Chicago this season. It would be a great story to see Rose play in the game since it's taking place in his hometown.
