Dallas Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison has continued to find ways to frustrate fans after trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. On Tuesday, Harrison held a bizarre post-Luka Doncic trade press conference that only included selected media members. Additionally, no video was allowed.
The press conference was another chapter of what has been an unfortunate saga, but Harrison found a way to make matters even worse (and even upset Mark Cuban) during the press conference.
Harrison made it seem as if he does not value Dirk Nowitzki's thoughts on the Doncic trade. It almost seemed as if the Mavs GM did not truly care what Nowitzki thought about the trade.
“My obligation is to the Dallas Mavericks, it's what's the best interest of the Dallas Mavericks, and that's the most important thing,” Harrison said on Tuesday, via Tim Cato. “Some of those decisions are going to be unpopular maybe to Dirk and maybe to the fans, but my obligation is to the Dallas Mavericks.”
Mark Cuban seemingly fired back at Harrison's surprising comments.
“Dirk is the Dallas Mavericks. Then, now and forever,” Cuban wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “No one should ever forget that. That statue will be here forever. Loyalty never fades away.”

“Tomorrow night 15 guys will put on a Mavericks uniform,” Cuban continued. “They will do everything they can to win. For themselves, each other and THE FANS. Our squad has busted there a** to fight through incredible adversity. They have my respect and support , should have everyone's.
“I am a Mavs fan. I will always love and cheer for everyone who puts on our uniform. Tomorrow night and how ever many games we have left this season and in every future season, whether I'm in the stands, in front of the TV, or following every play online, my heart and soul is committed to rooting for the Mavs to win. That will never change.
“I know fans are upset. But don't be upset at the players. Support them. Root for them. Rally behind them. MFFL stands for Mavs Fan FOR LIFE.”
Mark Cuban is still supporting his favorite team. He believes in the Dallas Mavericks. Cuban is hopeful that although fans may be upset, they will still support the players on Wednesday night.
