Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is the proud owner of a five-year, $207 million contract extension. Now, it's true that Doncic wasn't going to say anything bad about the Mavs after they tossed him this bag. These comments don't necessarily mean that reported tension was false. There has been a lot of upheaval in Dallas this offseason, with Donnie Nelson and Rick Carlisle out and Nico Harrison and Jason Kidd taking their place. The supposed “shadow GM,” Haralabos Voulgaris, is supposedly still in place, but perhaps things have been smoothed over with all the other moves in the organization.

The attention now turns to actually making this Mavs team elite on the court. While Doncic has made them a playoff team again, they failed to get out of the first round the past two seasons. Mavs owner Mark Cuban says the team has “improved considerably” in free agency, but they haven't really done all that much. They re-signed Tim Hardaway Jr. and brought in Reggie Bullock as their big moves. These decisions make sense given the need for shooting around Doncic, but he needs more help in the playmaking department.

There are rumors about Dallas going after Goran Dragic. Doncic's fellow countryman would be a nice addition and would certainly make the young superstar even happier than he already is right now.
