The Dallas Mavericks suffered another loss this season with a double-digit defeat to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. Following another devastating loss, Luka Doncic seemed dejected when speaking about Dallas' struggles to begin the season.

“I don’t know what to say,” responded Luka Doncic when asked about Dallas’ poor starts, via Brad Townsend of The Dallas News. “There’s a lot of things wrong right now. We’ve got to pick it up and be way better than this.”

The Mavs have lost three consecutive games after the loss to the Jazz and they have lost six out of their past eight games. Moreover, they've fallen to 8-10 on the season, putting them in third place in the Southwestern Division in the Western Conference behind the San Antonio Spurs and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Luka Doncic has been doing his part in trying to get Dallas wins as he's currently compiling 27.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, and a career-best 9.7 assists per game. While he's shooting a career-best 46.4 percent from the floor, he's making a career-worst 28.5 percent from long range in his first 17 games of the season.

With Kristaps Porzingis back in the lineup, the Mavericks have to figure out their most effective lineup. It's evidently going to take some time for Rick Carlisle to get his team to play consistently together.

If the season were to end today, the Mavericks would find themselves on the outside looking in for the playoffs as they are currently positioned as the No. 11 seed in the competitive Western Conference. Luckily for Doncic and Dallas, they have 54 games remaining to get in a position to have an opportunity to compete in the postseason.

The Mavs will look to get back in the win column on Jan. 29 in a rematch against the Jazz.
