It appears Dallas Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic had an idea that the Mavs were on the verge of trading for Kristaps Porzingis.

Luka Doncic started following Kristaps Porzingis on Instagram on Wednesday, a day before the New York Knicks traded KP to the Mavs.

Coincidence, or did Doncic know something was about to go down? Who knows. What we do know is that Doncic has to be thrilled to have Porzingis in Dallas with him. Once Porzingis is cleared to return from his ACL injury, the two youngsters have the potential to be the next great duo in the NBA.

Doncic is the front runner for this year's Rookie of the Year award. The 19-year-old is averaging 20.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game and shooting 43.3 percent from the floor, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and 73.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The last time we saw Porzingis playing basketball, he was laying on the ground holding onto his knee. Before that, though, Porzingis was putting up monster numbers. In the 2017-18 campaign, KP averaged 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 48 games for the Knicks while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from the 3-point line.

It's going to be fun to see Doncic and Porzingis play together in Dallas.
