Dallas Mavericks’ sophomore Luka Doncic is already better than a lot of NBA players in the league right now. On Wednesday night, the Mavs point guard was better than the entire Golden State Warriors team for one quarter in a feat that was accomplished by only one other player – former NBA Most Valuable Player and Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame member Allen Iverson.

The Warriors could only muster 12 points in the opening salvo of their game versus the Mavs at the American Airlines Center, while Doncic already had 22 points, five rebounds, and five assists at the time.

Doncic has been beyond phenomenal for head coach Rick Carlisle’s team, scoring 24 or more points in Dallas’ last 10 games – notching seven triple-doubles in that stretch.

With the game already decided between the Mavs and Warriors, Doncic only logged in 25 minutes, but still finished with yet another triple-double performance of 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. He also became the first player in NBA history to record that staline while playing in 25 minutes or less.

Superstars like LeBron James and James Harden has been breaking records left and right at the beginning of the 2019-20 NBA regular season, but Doncic might just be playing the best basketball in the league right now. He has emerged as a bonafide superstar and will most likely be selected as an All-Star this year.

The Mavs are on its way to its 9th win of the season and will be tied with the Los Angeles Clippers at the fourth spot of the Western Conference standings.
