Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks finally found themselves in the winning column on Wednesday. The Mavs were riding a six-game losing slump coming into their game against the Atlanta Hawks and, after the 122-116 win, it seems that Doncic has figured out what was eating at his squad when they couldn't get a win.
“I feel great about this team,” Doncic said after the Mavs' first win in over two weeks (via Callie Caplan of Dallas News). “This team is trying to get in shape after COVID, but I think we'll be OK. Just a tough stretch and we just got to stay positive and just enjoy the basketball.”

The Mavs did seem to enjoy playing basketball on Wednesday. Finally. Doncic led the team with 27 points and 14 assists while Kristaps Porzingis ended with a 24-11 line and was huge for the Mavs down the stretch.
Article Continues BelowAs Doncic puts it, health has been the main hurdle for Dallas 22 games into the season. They've missed guys through different injuries and key players like Josh Richardson, Maxi Kleber, and Dorian Finney-Smith were out for more than half of January. All three players though were back in the Mavs' starting line-up against the Hawks for just the second time since clearing their individual quarantines.
After last season's impressive run, Mavs fans had high hopes for their team this season but so far, it's been a frustrating 2020-21 campaign. Doncic is hoping that the team can stay healthy and get some more reps in to try and make another run for the post-season.
