Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray will miss his second straight game with a sprained ankle when his team takes on the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night, but Nuggets head coach Michael Malone says that Murray is progressing:
“It's definitely getting better,” Malone said of Murray's ankle, according to Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. “Is it better to the point where maybe he's able to play on this trip? Obviously, we'll have to wait and see. But, it's just around the clock treatment. While he's out, other guys have an opportunity to play and step up and help their team.”
The Nuggets will play the first of a two-game road trip in Memphis on Monday followed by a game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. They will then head home for one contest versus the Houston Rockets before heading back on the road for four games.

He is also having a terrific month of January, shaking off is early-season shooting struggles by making 45.2 percent of his triples thus far this month. He has progressively gotten better from downtown, as he shot 27.8 percent in October, 32.9 percent in November and 35.8 percent in December.
The 21-year-old is in his third season out of Kentucky.
