Newly signed Denver Nuggets point guard Isaiah Thomas is about to tackle a fresh start with his new team, and will wear a new number this upcoming season to signify a new beginning.

In the past, Thomas wore #22 for the Sacramento Kings, #4 for the Boston Celtics, #3 for the Phoenix Suns, #7 for the Los Angeles Lakers, will now wear #0 for the Nuggets. Trey Lyles currently wears #7, Paul Millsap wears #4, Torrey Craig wears #3, and Richard Jefferson, should he return, will likely keep his # 22 jersey, so it's not surprising toes Thomas pick a new jersey number.

Thomas underwent an unfathomable fall from grace since he finished fifth in league MVP voting and second in the NBA in scoring in the 2017 NBA season. He averaged an incredible 28.9 points per game for the Celtics and led the league in fourth quarter scoring before suffering a hip injury during the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cavaliers. Since then it has been a steady and painful downward spiral for Thomas.

With a coach he got his start with in Michael Malone’s, Thomas will get a fresh start and attempt to show the league he can play following a brutal hip injury. It seems like it just happened, but we're over a year removed from Thomas dropping 53 points in a playoff game against the Washington Wizards in Boston. The NBA is a brutal league with no remorse, and Thomas has unfortunately received the short end of the stick the last year.

Let’s hope with his new number with his new team brings newfound rejuvenation in his career moving forward.
