It's always a challenge being a young player in the NBA, especially when your future may be uncertain.

For Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, that meant dealing with hearing his name come up in trade rumors this season.

The young marksmen opened up about what that experience was like for the first time, via SportsNet.ca:

“It’s different knowing I could be in Cleveland right now. I could be in Minnesota. I could be anywhere in a couple days. It’s kind of nerve wracking because you don’t know what’s going on and there are so many rumours. I just have to stay ready and prepared for any opportunity.”

In his first season in the NBA last year, Murray appeared in all 82 games, averaging 9.9 points and 2.1 assists in 21.5 minutes a night. His biggest highlight of the campaign was perhaps being named the MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star Weekend.

That isn't enough for a team to not shop around a young player, especially if you're Denver and in the market to possibly trade for a star like Kyrie Irving. Not much traction came with that rumor though so it's unclear how much Murray's name was really a possibility to get traded.

Murray remains part of a young and exciting core in Denver that just added an All-Star in Paul Millsap that has the Nuggets eager to make noise next season.
