The Denver Nuggets have historically had one of the best home-court advantages in the league because of the altitude at the Mile High City. They have been one of the best home teams once again this season with a 10-2 record.
However, their road form has been the complete opposite. They are just 3-9 outside of the Pepsi Center this season and until that changes, Malone doesn’t even want to consider a return to the playoffs.

Despite their 3-9 road record, the Nuggets are still very much in the playoff mix in the Western Conference thanks to their strong home record. They are currently in the sixth spot, although they’re tied with the fifth-placed Portland Trail Blazers at 13-11.
But as good as the Nuggets’ home form has been thus far, it will still be tougher for them to hold down a place in that top eight if they continue on at the rate they’re going on the road.
Whether it’s the team's disappointing defense or just the team’s mentality, the Nuggets need to make some improvements away from home in order to ensure a first playoff appearance in five seasons.
