Denver Nuggets star big man Nikola Jokic has tested positive for COVID-19 in Serbia, per Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Jokic has been asymptomatic since testing positive last week. The Nuggets' franchise player is expected to be cleared to travel to Denver within a week.

Nikola Jokic was exposed to COVID-19 when he stopped by a Serbian practice. That was when the NBA world first saw “Skinny Jokic” for the first time.

The Nuggets are among the 22 teams scheduled to partake in the “bubble” games in Orlando, Florida. Denver head coach Michael Malone revealed last week that he tested positive for COVID-19 a while back.

Before games were suspended in March, Jokic was averaging 20.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists for the Nuggets in 65 games. The do-it-all center was also shooting 52.8 percent from the field, 31.4 percent from beyond the arc and 81.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Nuggets have already clinched a playoff spot in the West. Denver is in third place with a record of 43-22. The team lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round of the 2019 playoffs in seven games, so Jokic and Co. are eager to go on a deep run in 2020.

Jokic, one of the best players in the NBA, has career averages of 16.9 points, 9.7 boards and 5.4 assists in 373 games with the Nuggets.
