Despite losing Game 1 of the NBA Finals for the first time in five years under coach Steve Kerr, the Golden State Warriors have finally gotten a feel for the Toronto Raptors. Draymond Green claims his time has now figured out the right approach moving forward.

“We leave this game feeling as good as you possibly can feel knowing that, yeah,” said Green, according to Logan Murdock of NBC Sports Bay Area. “We lost but I think we figured some things out, and we'll be better next game.”

The Warriors used this Game 1 on the road as a feel out game, and considering the stakes and the enigma of figuring out their opponents, they have reason to be optimistic.

Golden State had 16 turnovers, 10 of them coming in the first half, as the Warriors struggled to shed high traps and blitzes that tormented their starting backcourt.

The defending champions also allowed 24 fast break points to a team that thrives in transition, an area they'll look to fine tune for Sunday's Game 2.

“Our transition defense was awful,” said coach Steve Kerr. “We gave up 24 fast break points, turned it over 17 times. That’s the game.”

Green was ultimately confident, given how much better he feels his team can play after Thursday's opening letdown.

“I like where we're at,” said Green, who had six of the team's 16 turnovers. “The way the game went tonight, we always had a chance and we didn't play very well at all.

“We didn't play very well tonight at all and we still had a chance the entire game.”

The Warriors will have to hone into those adjustments and come out sharper and more ready if they hope to steal a game on the road and give themselves a chance to three-peat.
