When the Golden State Warriors are clicking, they are nearly impossible to beat, and the Toronto Raptors found that out the hard way in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.
The Warriors came away with a 109-104 victory courtesy of a brilliant second-half performance, a performance that was so on point that Golden State actually assisted on each of its 22 field goals over the final two quarters, per Tom Haberstroh of NBC Sports.
The Dubs, who trailed by 12 points in the second quarter and went into halftime losing by five, began the second half on an 18-0 run to open up a 13-point lead and then staved off a late Raptors rally to come away with a series-tying win. Golden State did struggle down the stretch offensively, but a late Andre Iguodala 3-pointer sealed the deal.
Klay Thompson, who left the game in the fourth quarter as a result of a hamstring injury, led the way with 25 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Stephen Curry totaled 23 points. Also, Draymond Green came within one assist of a triple-double, as he posted 17 points, 10 boards and nine dimes. Meanwhile, DeMarcus Cousins, who was playing in just his second game after returning from a quad injury he suffered earlier in the postseason, chipped in a double-double of his own with 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
